Very, very well-done. Absolutely loved the guitar too, beautifully mastered. Only thing keeping me from that last half-star is the slower first half was not my style, and a bit too lacking in tiny variations and anomalies for my techno-loving head (the guitar is a great example of something different changing up the scene, giving it more texture, more life. Wish it would have lasted through the whole song!) Really dug it!

At 1:15, I think the lead could have really used another layer of itself at one or two octaves higher coming in and giving it a little anguish, making the lead sing a bit more... that being said, liked it well enough! Really liked 2:00 - 2:13ish too.

BeefourMusic responds:

Thanks, I will play around with it a bit next week and see how it sounds with the higher octave lead in place :)

Noice.

Good harmonics, that was something I personally was late at getting down, and its the critical key to any good dance song. Again, for the professional sound, check out the manual that comes with the software for tips on EQing and mixing. There's also a ton of online tutorials from random people, while Image Line also has their own FL Guru tutorial videos. You had some really good parts, like at 3:24, where you did really good work with that pad with the electronic, and the following breakbeat was also good. The ending was a bit abrupt. At this point, your next big step really is what I mentioned earlier, and from there a natural progression and evolution of style and sound will emerge. How long did you say you've been playing around with this for?

ThunderBeats responds:

thanks - mastering and EQ is my next big project :D I've been playing around with this stuff for the past few weeks now. Thanks for the review :)

Much better.

Haha I like this more than I do many of my own. Again, the need for mixing is still there, but it sounds really good.

Check out my track "Destination: Earth" and compare it to one like "Infektion." You'll notice "Infektion" sounds much better and like it's been mastered and produced, because, well, it has hahaha. "Destination..." hasn't, it has a similar feel and sound to the tracks you're doing now. With "Destination" though, I had done some effects work, so it's not totally plain, but yeah, you get the point. Love your breakbeat in this, and it's a strong start. Don't finish it though until you learn to mix it. If you want, you can send me the FL file and I'll email back to you what that might sound like if it was mixed and EQ'd. I wouldnt put it up anywhere tho, I mean its ur song, hence the email.

Dig it! 5'd it!

Hmmm

Next big step for ya bud: Mixing and EQ'ing, in that order.

Play around with some of the presets in your browser. Search "Mixer Presets." Drag them over a mixer channel, and then route your patterns to those channels. It'll give you a taste of mixing, and it'll send you on your way to sounding professional, if you're like how I was and stupified at how pro's sound so good and my stuff, well, didn't haha XD

Good luck!

Bad

-ass. Love the sound, just really sick. @SuBmIT95- Technically, it is missing a bassline, but that's the great thing about music, who's to say what is and what isn't?

Sick track dude, and like someone else said, radio voice works bitchin with it.

Bad

-ass. Was really hoping for the traditional bump-bump-bump-bump to break out during the metal-step sequence, but still sounded good with the dub beat. Get those mastering skills down! :)

mr-jazzman responds:

Lol not entirely sure what you mean by "bump bump bump bump," but I assume you mean like a breakdown or somethin. And trust me, I'm workin on making the metalstep more legit. Thanks for the review. And I'm trying my absolute best to get those mastering skills down man! It's difficult stuff, especially when you finish a project then realize that you should be letting something else different into the mix at a certain point...>sigh<...it's a frustrating job. You can check out my Robot Day submission to see what I mean (I like it, but the bass is kind of "buried," so to speak...and it just ended up that way, not by virtue of my own want =P). Anyway, thanks for the review man! =)

Sweet!

Freeking love that epic string. Trick stuff!
